About us.
On the 27th April 1974, the Baptist Convention Sierra Leone was founded by resolution of delegates from Baptist Churches under the supervision of the European Baptist Mission and the Nigerian Baptist Convention in Sierra Leone at the First Annual Convention of Baptist Churches held in Olivet Baptist Church, Mambolo..
The Baptist Convention Sierra Leone is a church mission agency fully registered in Sierra Leone to provide spiritual, social, educational and other humanitarian services to its member churches and the wider Sierra Leone community. Therefore, this constitution serves as the main policy document for the governance of its operations and supersedes the constitutions of all local Baptist churches.

Vision and Mission
1. VISION: A union of committed Baptist Churches and institutions empowered by the Holy Spirit for sustainable holistic ministry in Sierra Leone and beyond.
2. MISSION: Our mission is to work together with other compatible Christian organizations to evangelize, equip disciples, plant churches and empower communities through the local churches for effective ministry in Sierra Leone and beyond.
Purpose
The purpose of the Baptist Convention (Sierra Leone) is:
1. To build up the body of Christ by spreading God’s message of salvation to the lost in Sierra Leone and beyond
2. To collaborate with other compatible Christian organizations
3. To unite local Baptist Churches to witness and minister.
4. To harness the resources contributed by partner organizations and local churches that form the Convention for the purpose of proclaiming the gospel and establishing and developing indigenous Churches in Sierra Leone and beyond.
5. To provide Health Services, Educational and Agricultural Resources and/training in order to bear witness to the life of Jesus Christ by showing love to the needy.
6. To serve as liaison between local churches and other Christian groups, governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations.
7. To invest in such financial undertakings that is for the propagation of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8. To provide legal protection for the Baptist work in Sierra Leone.
